PASS PLUS

Pass Plus is a course of 6 specially designed training sessions that you can take up to a year after you've passed your driving test.

What's the benefit of doing Pass Plus?
A qualified instructor gives you experience of driving in and out of town, in all weathers, at night, on dual carriageways and on motorways. This extra experience would otherwise take ages to gain on your own.

Motor insurers supporting Pass Plus will give you one-year’s no claims bonus if you insure your own car and you might be able to defer the no-claims bonus for up to 2 years after doing this course.

This means if you buy a car within 2 years of completing the Pass Plus course, and haven't had any claims since passing, your first premium will be reduced by the extra one-year’s no claim bonus.

Hot Tip:
There are some schemes that offer the Pass Plus course for a cheaper price. Ten Local Authorities in Scotland sponsor the scheme. You can find details of the discounts they offer by using the links below. For more information contact your local Road Safety Unit, and you could save money on your course as well as your insurance.
